Ready-to-Drink Cocktail Review:
Cayman Jack Margarita

Posted by Jaime Fowler on

If I could only have one type of cocktail the rest of my life, it would be  margaritas!

Especially skinny margaritas but either way, margs are my jam. So naturally the Cayman Jack margaritas caught my eye.

I picked up a six pack of these bottled margaritas at Target - along with a few extra rolls of shipping tape if you're following my Insta stories. I was drawn to the "realness" of the ingredients. This pre-made cocktail is made with 100% blue agave nectar, natural lime juice and real cane sugar. This isn't a brand I'd heard of but the packaging was pretty so of course that closed the deal for me.

And I'm so happy it did. These babies are de-lish!  I'm telling you, you could buy these, pour them into margarita glasses and serve them to your guests as if you made them yourself after attending a fancy bartending school. Add a little cocktail flare with salt and a lime and no one would question you. Genius!
Cayman Jack margarita review by The Pursuit of Cocktails

Here is official my score for the Cayman Jack Margarita:

Overall tastiness

Five Cocktail shakers

Winner winner chicken dinner! This was so close to a fresh, handmade marg that I'm call it *thisclose* to real thing. The only thing missing is a salted rim.

Sweetness
Three cocktail shakersOne shaker = not sweet at all // Five shakers = your teeth may curl

This margarita hit the sweet spot (no pun intended 😜) of being sweet but not too sweet. Plus it didn't have even a hint of that fake sugary taste you get with some pre-made cocktails.

Booziness
Two cocktail shakers
One shaker = does this have booze? // Five shakers = Four Lokos

Officially this one rings in at 5.8% ABV. It has a little kick to it but it is tasty enough that you may want to keep count of your bottles lest you drink the whole 6-pack without realizing it. I hate when that happens! LOL

Would I buy this again?

For sure! Maybe as soon as tomorrow. I will be putting this drink into my regular rotation. It is the perfect cocktail to have on reserve for a spontaneous girls night or (maybe someday) a night cap after a great date. Does anyone say night cap anymore?

I also did a little digging on Cayman Jack after being so pleasantly surprised with their margarita and was thrilled to find they have a mojito too. Consider me officially on the hunt for their mojitos. And of course, I'll let you know what I think of it right here. Stay tuned...

If you'd like to try this cocktail you can order it online from Drizly and have it shipped right to your door. Did you know you could have booze shipped to your home? Pretty awesome right?!?!?

  • Ok I stumbled upon this article looking these babies up before I bought them and you sold me, of course! I’m so happy I bought them. Ok so not a Margarita the way I like them, but this is soooo much better than any seltzer your going to buy. It’s like an adult limeade lol so good and refreshing!

  • At first taste I didn’t like them because there was no Tequila taste. However, these are very refreshing and don’t contain anywhere near as much Alcohol. I’ll take these over a Beer anyway, except for the occasional IPA. YUM.

  • I thought this looked appealing for Memorial Day Weekend in Georgia BBQ, as we LIVE FOR Margaritas. We tried a few early and I thought them a little odd at first – OK some background my other half is a Texan from Mexican descent and was raised with Margaritas and her daughter has a delivery business renting Margarita machines. I prefer and often make from scratch rocks Margaritas from Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Orange and Agave with Premium Tequila or Mezcal, dirty with slices of jalapenos and limes in them. The Margarita in it’s many forms and a good spicy Vodka Bloody Mary (also scratch made) are my ONLY cocktails.

While this to me tastes almost nothing like an actual Margarita, after sampling a few i DO find that I like them … a LOT! They are what I’d call Margarita LIKE, and amazingly refreshing, especially as Georgia moves rapidly toward Summer. These little babies go down very easy, with anything off the grill, maybe dangerously easy … they might slap you in the back of your pineapple if you aren’t careful. They make a very refreshing addition to your Beer Fridge, and I bet if you are entertaining company and grilling, you’ll wish you’d bought more, I recon when guests discover them they will disappear very quickly!

  • @Marie They are so good right? I’m in the same boat trying to find the mojito to try next. I’m near Lake Tahoe so if I spot it I’ll let you know too. Cheers!

  • Our outside refrigerator is always stocked with Cayman Jack Margaritas. My absolute go to. Everyone who tries them ends up going out to get some. Still on the hunt for the Mojitos. I’m in Northern CA and haven’t been able to find them yet. I give Cayman Jack a solid 5 stars!
