Virtual mixology classes to improve your cocktail making at home

Fancy cocktail making doesn't have to be intimating - apparently. Personally I've always been a little nervous to making cocktails for my guests which is why your girl loves a good ready-to-drink cocktail. BUT I do want to improve my mixology skills so I have found a bunch of online mixology classes I want to try and I thought I'd share the list with you.

Here are the virtual cocktail making classes I have my eye for the summer:

Make It A Triple: Mixology Mastery Summer Series
Virtual mixology class with Matt LevyThis mixology master class is three 90-minute sessions starting in May taught by expert Brooklyn bartender Matt Levy. It is built around the hallowed trinity of whiskey, gin, and vodka (along with flavorful nonalcoholic recommendations) and each class focuses on the unique properties of one of these spirits, and teaches you three masterful methods for transforming it into creative cocktails: built, shaken, and stirred.

At the end you should be able to comfortably make a quality Old Fashioned, Gin & Tonic, and a Salty Dog. It sounds intense but what a great way jump right in.

Cocktail Crafting Summer Series
Cocktail making class with Tory PrattThis is another virtual cocktail making class with set dates starting in June with three sessions of 60-minute classes with instructor Tory Pratt, the cocktail expert and entrepreneur whose recipe research inspired her Pre-Prohibition Cocktail Syrups, which you’ll be using in class.

During this class we'll learn how to make a expert Old Fashioned, Whiskey Sour, sparkling French 75, Pomegranate Egg Flip, and Gin & Tonic. Plus how to use bar tools like a pro, create beautiful garnishes, and how to come up with your own signature cocktails.

This class sounds like so much fun and the perfect way to send a Wednesday night once a month all summer long.

Lynnette Marrero & Ryan Chetiyawardana's MasterClass on Mixology

MasterClass virtual mixology classes

This virtual cocktail class is a part of the MasterClass curriculum. I watched it a few years ago and learned so much - specifically to "beat" the mint before I put it in a drink - and I think it's time to watch it again. The teachers are so different from each other and have completely unique takes. Watching the two of them side by side making cocktails is so informative.

During the class they teach you the essentials of cocktail making, from developing your palate to building your home bar. You learn how to mix a perfectly balanced drink for every occasion and mood—and become your friends’ new favorite bartender.

I highly recommend this one. Plus there are so many awesome skills and teachers on MasterClass, it's the perfect platform to join when you are eager to learn new things.
