Ready-to-Drink Cocktail Review:
Angry Orchard Rosé Hard Cider

Posted by Jaime Fowler on

UPDATE: It has been two and a half years since I stared this cocktail loving blog reviewing all the ready-to-drink cocktails I could get my hands. I am getting ready to make a change in how I bring you easy, pre-made cocktails but before that, I want to take it all the way back to where it started, with Angry Orchard. (Who for the record immediately reached out to me to let me know that this was 100% NOT a cocktail - but I'm a rebel and I do want I want. 😆 )

Enjoy this trip down memory lane and keep an eye on your inbox for news on what is coming next.

Cheers!

Welcome
to my first ever ready-made cocktail review!

I'm so happy you are here! Let's kick summer off right with a fruity beverage that is *hopefully*  perfect for a sunny day.

Enter Angry Orchard's new Rosé Hard Cider.

I've been seeing this one around the Gram and I had to check it out for us.  If you read my last post you know I'm up for all types of drinks but cocktails are my favorite. (If you missed it, you can catch up here.) Normally I prefer my hard cider with a shot of Fireball but I was willing to give this one a try because (1) rosé is soooo hot right now and (2) it's pretty.

If you haven't figured it out by now, I am by no means a qualified mixologist, sommelier or foodie. I will never give you my opinion on a cocktail using terms like "aromatic floral notes." I'm just a regular girl who loves cocktails but is a little too busy/lazy/low-maintenance to be very uppity about drinks.

Now back to the beverage at hand. Ladies, don't forget to grab your bottle opener or you will be SOL to get these babies open. (Although I did see a girl open a beer with her teeth recently and I am still haunted by it. Don't do that.) Bring a bottle opener or plan to ask a nearby hot guy for help. *wink wink*  Once opened I'm happy to report that this drink does not have that overwhelmingly sweet smell that some canned cocktails have. One point for Angry Orchard's Rosé. And it just got better from there babes. I was really surprised by this drink. It tastes just like real rosé (to me) but a little bit better because it is definitely more of a cider than a wine - which is apparently a win in my book. You learn something new about yourself everyday, right?

Here is official my score for the Angry Orchard Rosé Hard Cider:

Light and refreshing - This an easy-going kinda day drink. It is a great choice for lounging with on a hot day when you aren't trying to get cray.

Two cocktail shakers

One shaker = not sweet at all  // Five shakers = your teeth may curl

This rosé hard cider is sweet enough to be easy to drink but not so sweet it's going to make your stomach hurt later like some ciders can.

Two cocktail shakers

One shaker = does this have booze? // Five shakers = Four Lokos

Officially this one rings in at 5.5% ABV. One bottle will by no means knock you on your butt. You could have a few of these to slowly develop the perfect fuzz.

"Fuzz" is my college roommates term for that magical moment where you are super happy and relaxed - before you go over the edge to drunkness. A.K.A. The sweet spot.

Would I buy this again?

Definitely yes. These would be perfect for picking up on the way to a pool party or other casual gathering where you want to bring something good but no soooo good that you won't want to share it.  😉

Have you tried this drink? What did you think? I'd love to hear from you in the comments section. The more opinions the better! This should be a fun place for all of us to "drink together" and share our best girl talk.
