TGIF cocktail lovers! I'm back with more moonshine!! This week I am trying two moonshine canned cocktails from Midnight Moon Moonshine. I absolutely love that more RTD moonshine cocktails are popping up on the market so when the team at Midnight Moon reached out to see if I wanted to try their's, I jumped at the chance. Bring on the shine!
They sent me both of their canned cocktails - the Lightning Lemonade and the Watermelon. I am intrigued by the watermelon simply because there are not a ton of watermelon cocktails available and I find that it is a flavor that is hard to capture in a pre-made cocktail without it tasting super fake.
I dressed up these canned cocktails for the holidays with a few of my Ugly Christmas Sweater Swizzly Sticks and topped them off with a little garnish. Now let's sip!
Here is my official review of the Midnight Moon Moonshine canned cocktails:

Midnight Moon Moonshine Watermelon - I did not see that coming! As I said, watermelon is a tricky tricky flavor in ready-to-drink cocktails and most of the other times I've had a watermelon cocktail it was mixed with another flavor. But the Midnight Moon is just watermelon with no other flavors to hid behind - and they nailed it!
Midnight Moon Moonshine Lightning Lemonade - Coming off the surprising and sweet Watermelon moonshine, the bar was high for the Lightning Lemonade. And it was not what I expected either! I thought for sure this one would be sweet too but it's not. This is a much more of a lemon flavored cocktail without a ton of sweetness I expected from being a lemonade. I really liked it. It is lighter, and lemon-y, and at the total other end of the spectrum from the Watermelon.
Overall the Midnight Moon Moonshine canned cocktails have range with a super sweet option in the Watermelon and a lighter option in the Lightning Lemonade. They also have some kick! I felt a buzz almost immediately after just a few sips. More on that below.
If you are curious about moonshine cocktails, don't sleep on Midnight Moon!
One shaker = not sweet at all // Five shakers = your teeth may curl
I'm averaging these two canned cocktails out at a 3 since one was really sweet and one wasn't.
The Watermelon is a 5/5 on the sweetness scale - in the best way. Personally I loved this watermelon candy flavored moonshine cocktail.
I thought the Lightning Lemonade would be sweet as well but it really isn't. It is probably a 2/5 in sweetness. It is more lemon than sweet lemonade.

One shaker = does this have booze? Five shakers = OG Four Lokos
Officially these moonshine canned cocktails each ring in at 8% ABV which is fairly normal for a ready-to-drink cocktail. What is interesting though is I felt an instant buzz from two small sips. I looked at the can to check the percentage fully expecting it to be 20%+ so I as shocked that it was only 8%. So while this moonshine might not be as strong as "traditional" moonshine, it has a quick and strong buzz.
Would I buy this ready to drink cocktail again?
I can't believe I am saying this, but I really liked that Watermelon moonshine. Never in my life did I think I would say a watermelon flavored cocktail would make my favorites list but it one me over with it's sweet candy flavored buzz.
