Ready-to-drink cocktail review: Crafthouse Cocktails (Part 3)

Posted by Jaime Fowler on

Crafthouse Cocktails rtd cocktail review by The Pursuit of Cocktails

I'm excited - and kinda sad - about this weeks ready-to-drink cocktail review. I'm excited to share the final three cocktails from Crafthouse Cocktails with you. But I'm sad that this series is coming to an end. The Crafthouse Cocktails have been so so good so far. I wish there where seven more to try!

If you missed either of the first two installments of this series, you can catch up here and here.

Now before I get too sad about this coming to an end, let's just dig into the cocktails!

Crafthouse Cocktails Smokey Margarita:

Crafthouse Cocktails ready-to-drink margarita review

Overall score: 5 / 5

5 out of 5 cocktail shakers
Sweetness:
One shaker = not sweet at all // Five shakers = your teeth may curl
2 out of 5 cocktail shakers
Booziness: 13% ABV
One shaker = does this have booze? Five shakers = OG Four Lokos
5 out of 5 cocktail shakers

If you've followed me for very long then you know I've tried A LOT of pre-made margaritas. Some have been good, a lot have been okay, and a few have been seriously horrible. Not too surprisingly, this ready-to-drink margarita from Crafthouse Cocktails is definitely in my top 3!

This marg feels like how all margarita should be made. You instantly taste super good tequila that is then cut with fresh lime flavor and a touch of sweet to balance the whole thing out. No sugary sweet and sour mix covering up less than tasty tequila here!

I have always wanted to go to the tequila factories in Mexico (I hear you can drink the agave straight out of the plant!) to try what *real* tequila is like before us greengos mess it up. I've been lucky enough to try some that was smuggled in and it is so different than the stuff you get from US brands and the tequila in this margarita from Crafthouse reminded me a lot of that straight-from-the-source tequila. So until covid is over and I can get down to Mexico, I'll stick with this Crafthouse margarita for my authentic tequila fix.

Crafthouse Cocktails Paloma:

Overall score: 5/ 5

Sweetness:

Booziness:  12.5% ABV

Palomas are not one of my go-to cocktails because I don't particularly like grapefruit. I think it is one of those flavors you either really love or you just don't. But I was pretty confident based on how much I love all the other Crafthouse Cocktails, that this one would be good even to me.

This Paloma does have a really strong grapefruit flavor but it is really nicely balanced with a touch of lime and the quality tequila. There is no mistaking that this is a tequila cocktail. That is actually the main flavor that come through - which was great for me. I was pleasantly surprised how much I ended up liking this ready-to-drink Paloma.

Crafthouse Cocktails Pineapple Daiquiri:

Crafthouse Cocktails pre-made pineapple daiquiri review

Overall score: 5/ 5

Sweetness:

Booziness:  17.5% ABV

Of all the Crafthouse Cocktails, I think this might be the one the surprised me the most. I fully expected it to be awesome. I also expected it to be sweet and sugary like the frozen Daiquiris I'm used to. This version from Crafthouse is NOTHING like that.

The main flavor is actually rum. It's a little bit sweeter than the other Crafthouse cocktails but is by no means like the sugary drinks I'd imagined. And the pineapple flavor is actually infused into the rum. It's unlike any Daiquiri I've ever had and now I'm probably ruined forever on those frozen ones from Mexican restaurants. 😜

Crafthouse, you've officially raised the Daiquiri game.

Would I buy these again?

In case I need to say it louder for the people in the back, HELL YES. The Crafthouse Cocktails are seriously game changers. Each one is so good and unlike a lot of full lines that I've tried, each cocktail is different with it's own very distinct flavor. Each one alone is the best! And together this brand is just on another level.

Please, please do me a favor and try at least one of the Crafthouse Cocktails this year. 2020 needs more bright spots and this brand has definitely become one of mine so I want you to enjoy it too.
