I know I said I was done with seltzers, then this happened
If you've been following along then you know I've tried several hard seltzers since I started doing these reviews last summer. (You can read my review of White Claw Hard Seltzer here, Smirnoff's Spiked Sparkling Seltzer here, and Pura Still Water here.) And if you've read these reviews then you know I decided I'm just not a spiked seltzer water kind of girl. I don't drink La Crox. This category is just not my jam.
Buuuut over 4th of July my good friend B showed up with a new hard seltzer I hadn't tried yet, and I'm a sucker for a canned cocktail, so I had to try it. And to my absolute shock - I love these seltzers from Bon & Viv! How did that happen???
So I decided to pick up a variety pack this week and try them again just to make sure it wasn't a holiday party mood that made me soft. *wink*
Here is my official review of Bon & Viv Spiked Seltzer:
The only reason I'm not giving this a 5 star review is because seltzers in general don't have that much flavor. It's a solid 4.5 stars though!
The variety pack I picked up had four flavors - grapefruit, cranberry, pear elderflower and clementine hibiscus. And because I'm super dedicated to the cause, I cracked one of each open and did some sipping. It's a rough life but someone has to do it.
I was shocked to find that I genuinely like ALL four flavors. Of a hard seltzer. Which I thought I hated all seltzers. I'm shook. And I can't wait to keep sipping these through the weekend.
If you are curious, here is the order that I would rank the four flavors:
- Grapefruit - um what? I hate grapefruit but this is sooo dang good.
- Pear Elderflower - this was B's personal favorite
- Clementine Hibiscus
- Cranberry
But honestly, you can't loose with any of them. All the flavors are winners!
One shaker = not sweet at all // Five shakers = your teeth may curl
True to its seltzer roots, this canned cocktail is not sweet. In fact it has zero sugar. (Maybe I should make a graphic with no cocktail shaker "stars"...)
One shaker = does this have booze? Five shakers = Four Lokos
Officially this one rings in at 4.5% ABV so it is not very strong. This ready to drink cocktail is light all the way around. It has a light refreshing flavor. It has zero sugar and 90 calories so it is light on your tummy. And the booziness is light. It is a perfect hot weather cocktail. And soooo much better than the other hard seltzers I've tried.
Would I buy this ready to drink cocktail again?
Yep, I totally would. I still can't believe I'm team seltzer?!?!
There are a few other flavors from the Bon & Viv line that weren't in my pack. I'll be keeping an eye out for these flavors as well:
- Black Cherry Rosemary - my #1 priority to find!
- Lemon Lime
- Prickly Pear
If you can't find these at your local store don't worry! You can order Bon & Viv hard seltzers online.

The grapefruit was my runner-up for favorite! I didn’t know they had other flavors – the prickly pear sounds amazing!
